Learn more about the Med-Co Group…

"Bringing the right people together to make lives healthier..."

Med-Co Group strives to continuously improve healthcare provision, (for both patients and healthcare staff), by delivering accessible, patient-centred, cost effective, sustainable healthcare without ever compromising quality or services.

We firmly believe that everyone is entitled to high quality, reliable healthcare, delivered by qualified professionals, who are supported by a team of knowledgeable healthcare and industry experts.  To achieve this we source, recruit and develop high-calibre Clinicians, provide them with all the support and resources they need to excel and build diverse, dynamic, proactive teams that are passionate about health and wellbeing.

Our specialists use all their skills and experience to make our vision a daily reality.  From seasoned Practitioners looking for a new challenge, to newly qualified Clinicians eager to put theory into practice – they are all driven by a desire to improve, learn and support each other to offer the best possible outcomes for Patients, Service Users and Stakeholders.

How it all started...

Med-Co was established by Catherine Jenkins (previously Catherine Wheel), in February 1998, initially as a Primary Care locum company dealing solely with placing General Practitioners in different establishments, including; Health Centres, Prisons and various Ministry of Defence sites.  After quickly establishing an excellent reputation within the healthcare sector and building an extensive network of highly qualified professional Clinicians, the company grew and expanded to become Med-Co Group, encompassing Med-Co Recruitment (formerly Med-Co Europe) and Med-Co Secure Healthcare Services.

Med-Co Recruitment (MEL)

Med-Co (Europe) quickly became one of the few medical recruitment agencies in the UK specialising exclusively in Primary Care.  25+ years later, our experienced, sector specialist, recruitment professionals still provide professional services to clients and candidates across the UK and abroad.  We believe that personal relationships lie at the heart of our business and are proud to call many of our clients and candidates long standing friends of Med-Co.

Med-Co Secure Healthcare Services (SHS)

Med-Co Secure Healthcare Services (Med-Co SHS) was formed in 2010 to manage contracts specifically for the direct provision and management of GP led healthcare services in secure environments, focussing mainly on prison sites and immigration removal centres.  Over the past 14+ years, we have utilised our considerable knowledge and operational experience, to empower Clinicians providing outstanding healthcare services to these exceptionally vulnerable patient groups in highly specialised environments.

The Mental Health at Work Commitment, and the six standards which underpin it, were developed by UK employers and mental health experts as a roadmap for supporting and achieving better mental health outcomes for staff.  We recognise the massive impact workplace wellbeing can have on staff, patients and services and are committed to supporting and improving mental health at work, across all of our organisational activities.
